Today is my birthday, and I spent it at work and taking Kirin to PT. It's Ok. Will celebrate more when we can.

The other good news is we got approved to rent a house. It's not just any house, it's an 1820's schoolhouse in a very secluded area to the northwest of Chicago. It's walking distance to a train line in and a playground/grammar school. And even better, it has a tiny (practically personal) Civil War era cemetery right behind the house. Great atmosphere for writing and working. I'll also be able to work on some sculpture projects as I'll be able to have a basement workshop. I'll also have a room to record, so podcasts will be more plausible.

Trying out Scrivener as a writing tool. It has it's positive sides, and it has its downsides. I wish it has better formatting tools, like MS Word. On the other hand, I can keep all of my research, outlines, character and settings lists, and every other file together in one archive. That is tremendously handy as a writer. But I have been accustomed to page breaks in MS Word (or lately Open Office) to give me a sense of pacing.

Things have been too crazy to get real writing done. Recorded three podcasts a couple weeks ago, and have edited one. That's how little work I've been able to accomplish. Hoping these busy days are a bit behind me, but you know, I have to pack move, set up meetings for gearsecure.net, get production moving on a new project, and keep everything else moving.
